Jesus Christ the same yesterday,
and today, and forever.
Hebrews 13:8

Hear the Word of the Lord, “I have declared that life and death are in the power of the tongue and this day I give you an opportunity to speak life over yourself and your loved ones. Only be thou aware that the life that I offer depends on one’s willingness to follow the guidelines and precepts that I have set forth in My Word. Any other way will prove to be meaningless.”

Seasons change, people change, circumstances change, ideas change, paradigms change, even you change, but here’s one person that never changes and one truth that remains constant and that is God and His love for humanity.
Throughout my life I’ve had to learn the hard way that some things have a way of changing when you least expect them to. Should we look back over our lives, many of us would be able to identify people whom we have looked up to and have even hoped to emulate that have failed us miserably either by betraying our trust or by revealing a side of themselves that greatly contradicts all that we had supposed them to be. There are probably some relationships in our past that we were convinced would have lasted forever but that ended due to disagreement, distance, or even death. Maybe we were accustomed to a certain way of life that just happened to change suddenly for the worse or for the better; the point is that things change.

Many people have a hard time dealing with change; there are those who cling to the familiar with all their might because it is only in the midst of familiarity that they can find comfort. Yet change is a fact of life, it is one of those things that drive humans to adapt and grow. So what should we do with the fear of change when we are faced with a situation that demands us to? First, we must grab a hold of this truth, this one absolute and unwavering fact that God is, and He does not change. The Bible says it like this, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever” (cf. Hebrews 13:8). In other words, as He was in the Bible days, so He is today and forever will be. Whatever He promises to do He will be sure to bring it to completion. So when you are faced with a situation that requires change, speak to God about it; He is interested in every facet of your life and every change that takes place. If you do not know how to pray, simply say this: “God, I thank You for loving me. I thank You that even when I don’t consider You that even then You are thinking of me. Today I am faced with a difficult situation that requires me to change this aspect of my life (tell Him what needs to be changed), I ask You for Your help in this situation. Please guide me through this time and help me to trust in You like I never have before, in Jesus’ name, Amen.” After saying this prayer from your heart trust Him that He has heard your prayer and that He will help you through your time of change.

Today I challenge you to change your life for the better. In the midst of the things that are familiar to you and the things that you might be complacent in, God is actually calling you to move away from the place where you are stuck and come closer to Him.

Change is good when it is rooted in the will of God

Word For Today: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. - Proverbs 3:5 - After you have tried to do things your way and your way failed, why not try His way?
